Eonish, Lough Oughter - 27 September 2009
Match report Solid weights during September's King of Clubs festival drew club members to Eonish for the second match of the Winter League, but the hoped-for bream failed to make an appearance in what seemed ideal conditions: a warm breeze into the shore and mostly overcast at about 16 degrees. Smaller fish were the target and the anglers who swapped methods, bait and presentation in pursuit of roach and perch did best on the day. Best of all was Richie Keegan who swapped between groundbait feeder at 45 turns and 13.5 metre pole to finish with 4.150 kg of roach, perch and a couple of bonus skimmer bream. Martin Kantor was runner-up from end peg 1 with a mostly-perch bag of 3.300 kg. All in all, a very enjoyable and hard-fought match.
