Corrstown Lake - 16 January 2011
Match report After an 8-week break due to the coldest December weather on record, the club's first match of 2011 was scheduled for Mentrim Lake. Flooding and vandalism at Mentrim entailed a rapid switch to the north bank at nearby Corrstown. A stiff westerly breeze seemed to work in favour of the anglers fishing into it, and James Phelan and Peter Fox connected with the skimmer bream resident in the bay. Peter Fox had the better of it and took 2.140 kg of skimmers and roach by switching between pole and feeder. Adam Conlon christened his new seat box with a tidy 0.240 kg from a tricky peg, while new member Terry Nelson fished the swing-tip for 0.140 kg and ensured he didn't begin his Portobello career with a blank.
