Haughton's Shore, Lough Garadice - 10 April 2011
Match report Warmer weather saw the club venturing out to Lovely Leitrim for the fourth Spring League match. Air temperatures in the mid-teens meant the roach were on the move in advance of the spawning season. Deep water was the place to be on Garadice and Eoin Schweppe took advantage of an early peg to take fish from the off on long pole, short line tactics. Eoin finished with 5.610kg. Further along the bank, Richie used similar tactics to tempt 5.430 kg of roach and hybrids to the net. Martin Kantor did best of those fishing the shallower pegs by taking 4.480 kg on the waggler at 30 yards. All in all, a very successful and competitive match. Frank Murray paid us a visit from Allendale B&B in Carrigallen, to let us know that he is offering special overnight rates for anglers - from as little as €25 per night. Sounds like a great offer to us, so if you're looking to stay in the area and fish the countless lakes then pay a visit to their website.
